Join us for an afternoon celebration of the bright and cheery pansy as we gather to paint, learn, and enjoy the spring garden together! To start, instructor Brenna Estradaan accomplished farmer florist and author of the new book Pansieswill convey her tried and true tips for sowing pansies from seed to ensure the best germination rates and healthiest plants, as well as give additional growing advice to ensure your pansies thrive all season. Attendees will take home a terracotta pot of pansies and a pack of specialty seed, lending further inspiration and opportunity to paint pansies at home. During this instruction, you will enjoy a local and seasonal feast from our artist in food, Ashley Rodriguez, with a menu that has been artfully handcrafted based on what is available on and around the farm, forest, field and sea. Then, it’s time to pick up your paint brushes! Instructor Sarah Simona.k.a. The Mint Gardenerwill guide us through the techniques she uses for watercolor, as she uniquely teaches the foundations of this art as a transferable and mindful skill. Sarah will teach you step-by-step, and once you know how to paint a few flowing washes, that knowledge can be used to paint pansies together! The possibilities are endless with this beautiful art form. Once you work through the foundations together, you will work on a pre-drawn template of pansy flowers, so no drawing is required. With this class registration, you will receive all of the materials you need to continue to paint at home: professional watercolor paints and brushes with a curated palette specifically made for our lovely event! Our trio of instructors cannot wait for you to join us, to fall in love with the flowing freedom of watercolor and the many delights of the garden!
