Just in time for camping season, instructor Ashley Rodriguez will expertly guide us through the basics for over the fire cooking during this class at Bella Luna Farms. Rodrigueza Seattle-based award winning food writer, photographer, and the author of four bookswill cover how to set up a campfire for roasting, grilling, baking, and smoking, as she prepares a stunning meal that we will enjoy together: Fire toasted Gruyère on garlic toasts with pickled shallot and herbs; smoked beet salad with grilled steak, blue cheese, greens, and flowers; fire-baked sourdough with housemade smoked butter; and, toasted almond panna cotta with roasted strawberry rhubarb sauce. It’s time to elevate your camp fare: Come learn fun new techniques and then enjoy simple, smoke-kissed meals all summer long.

Ashley Rodriguez

Ashley Rodriguez is a Seattle-based award winning food writer and photographer. She is the author of four books; Date Night In, Let’s Stay In, Rooted Kitchen, and Field Notes from a Forest Guide. She is the host and co-creator of the James Beard nominated series, Kitchen Unnecessary. Ashley is a graduate of Seminary of the Wild through the Center for Wild Spirituality and a certified Nature and Forest Therapy guide. When not eating, or talking and writing about food you can find her foraging, fly fishing, feeding her sourdough starter and spending as much time outside as possible. She believes the outdoors is a place to be fed both physically and spiritually.

Refund Policy

We understand that plans change! While payments for workshops and events at Bella Luna Farms are non-refundable, you’re always welcome to transfer your spot to a friend if you can’t make it.

We’re also happy to offer credit toward a future event—provided we’re able to fill your spot. Giving us as much advance notice as possible helps increase the chances of finding someone, so please reach out as soon as you know you can’t attend. We’ll contact our waitlist and keep you posted.

In the rare event that we need to cancel a class due to weather or instructor illness, your enrollment can be transferred to a future class or refunded.
